A New Immersive Opera Preview In San Juan

Dear Friends, You are cordially invited to an exclusive fundraiser event in support of the creation of And the Cannons Sang: A Celestial Opera. Join us for a preview of this original work of music theatre, to be premiered in 2024. A first-of-its-kind immersive operatic experience in San Juan, the production was tailored specifically to fit the six interconnected 18th-Century Villas comprising the Gallery Inn, culminating in the Cannon Club. As you step inside, you will be transported back in time and introduced to the hotel’s historical and imagined inhabitants from centuries ago. Follow instrument-wielding musicians, singers, and dancers on a journey through the inn’s brick patios, antique arches, and sculptural fountains as the story comes to life through opera, cabaret, and Caribbean music. This limited preview is a taste of the opera in progress, with the creative team and lead performers in attendance. World Premiere is planned for Summer 2024. The event will take place on Sunday, June 4, at 6:00 pm at the Gallery Inn.
